I have been the victim of a scam involving individuals posing as contacts from River Valley High School. A man named Mr Tong claimed to be a teacher assigned by the headmaster to contact me, stating I was recommended by a friend. He urgently requested I visit the school for a bookshelf measurement. Later, Mr Tong asked me to find a brand called Suloopo from a supplier the school had dealt with, but which they were no longer on good terms. He promised a commission for ordering 30 mattresses. Despite his proof of transfer, I did not receive the payment and was asked to negotiate with the supplier, Mr Lee, to deliver the mattresses. After transferring a total of $5,000 of my own money, Mr Tong made further requests for more mattresses.

Realising something was wrong, I contacted the school directly and discovered they were unaware of Mr Tong and confirmed it was a scam.
