Our company received a call from Mr Deng who claimed to be a teacher from Hwa Chong Institution He mentioned that a parent had introduced our products and services to the principal and the principal wanted him to contact us to purchase our product He insisted on speaking only with our director

We eventually sent him a quotation which he confirmed almost immediately However he gave multiple reasons for not being able to make the payment such as the accounts department being in a meeting or not in the office He promised to send the payment the next day

The following day he called again asking for a favor He said the school needed to purchase 30 pieces of rubber mats costing around $850 per unit from a factory in Malaysia He claimed that the principal had some dispute with this company before and therefore needed our help to make an inquiry on their behalf

This request sounded quite ridiculous and we decided not to entertain his inquiry anymore

Note: His accent sounded like that of a Chinese national
