Investment Scam Internet Love Scam
I met Bernard on OKC, and he suggested we chat on WhatsApp or Telegram, preferring WhatsApp as he rarely uses Telegram due to work chats. Throughout our conversations, he shared that he lives in a condo in Pasir Ris, works at IBM in Changi Business Park, and obtained PR after working in Singapore for six years. He prefers phone calls, engaging in sweet talk, but often refuses to listen to me. He told me about a business trip to KL for two weeks, sharing photos of his pre-boarding preparations, arrival with his team, and mentioned client project restrictions on camera use due to an NDA.

He later brought up a BTO project in Tanah Merah, asking for help to inspect the progress before making a capital placement decision. As a token of appreciation, he claimed to have bought me a necklace symbolising that I’d unlocked his heart, and planned a candlelight dinner, despite my insistence it wasn’t necessary. He also mentioned a second gift, a unique code from someone named Nelson, related to the capital placement, which would expire in 12 days. Without any suspicion, I registered on the platform. After a successful first investment, I proceeded with a second, larger one. However, it became suspicious when the platform requested more deposits to withdraw the funds, and after I stopped, Bernard refused to contact me again.
