Internet Love Scam
I first met him on OkCupid and found him to be a decent guy. We exchanged Telegram handles and chatted for a few days, but then his Telegram account suddenly disappeared. I hadn’t given him my phone number, yet he called and WhatsApped me directly. He mentioned going on a business trip to Hong Kong for two weeks and would be back in September. He asked me to visit a property site in Yishun, where he wanted to invest, and since it was near my home, I agreed to assist.

The next day, he offered me a link to a supposed high-end investment. Initially, I deposited SGD 1,319, which seemed reasonable, and I was able to cash out the amount on Friday. However, that night, he pressured me to invest SGD 30,000. I felt overwhelmed and reluctantly put in SGD 20,000. He kept insisting the returns would be quick, but the next day, he asked for even more and suggested I take out a bank loan and borrow money from friends.
