I got a call at 11am yesterday from someone named Simon. Phone number listed above. He informed me that he was calling from Singtel and they discovered that someone has been hacking into our wifi and to rectify it I need to open my laptop and follow the process he was going to tell me.

I figured it was a scam and handed the phone to my husband and my husband heard him repeat the same story and then told him we had informed the police and the police was going to call him too. He hung up when he heard the word police.

We knew it was a scam because we don't have a singtel connection, ours is a starhub connection.
