Job Scam

While job hunting, I received a message from Rachel Lau, claiming she got my info from JobsDB and offering a marketing executive role with a $4.8k basic salary plus commission. She directed me to her supervisor on Telegram, who explained the job involved placing orders to boost Agoda’s hotel reputation and earning commissions by sending generated codes.

Initially, I didn’t have to make any transactions and received my commission as promised. However, the next day, I was required to make a transaction, with a refund and commission promised. This escalated from $40 to $6k, with a warning that incomplete orders would forfeit the refund. Realizing it was too much, I refused the final transaction and demanded a refund. My bank confirmed it was a scam, and I filed a police report. The scammers then deleted the chat and blocked me.
