Beware of bank phishing SMSes

Phishing Scam Impersonation Scam

I received the following phishing message from "dbs bank" on 16 feb 2021. what's scary is that the message was parked under the same conversation thread from the real DBS sender.

"Dear customer, your atm card temporarily has been suspended by dbs because you didn't update yet if you want to activate please call us at 31293641"
i called up dbs's hotline and they confirmed that they did not send any sms to me on that day. so i'm sure this is a phishing message.

Editor's note: Scammers can send messages using the ID used by legitimate organisations. This explained why the scam messages are found in the same conversation thread that you have with a particular organisation. Please read the the messages to determine if the message is genuine and not determine the authenticity based on the sender's ID.
